Can I terminate the rental agreement before it expires?

In the case of fixed-term rental agreements, the law does not provide for early termination. An extraordinary termination is possible in exceptional cases, including if you are denied access to the apartment, do not receive access in time, or if there is a considerable health hazard in the apartment.

However, if your plans have changed and you'd like to move out sooner, you can still agree an early termination with your landlord/-lady. We will be happy to assist in drawing up a termination agreement.

Your landlord/-lady rents out the apartment commercially?

In this case, as a private individual, you have a 14-day right to revoke the contract. This applies from the date of signature and only if you have not inspected the apartment before signing the rental agreement and have concluded the rental agreement online. If your landlord has stated that he is renting commercially, you will find the corresponding withdrawal clause in the rental agreement.
